About
Shippensburg University has given me the chance to truly grow as a person. My hometown of Williamsburg in Blair County, PA was the true definition of rural America. With a population of 1,500 people, I grew up surrounded by cornfields and mountains. I latched on to just about every opportunity my small-town high school had to offer, and quickly realized I had three big passions: gaming, travel and music. Gaming came from time spent playing board games with my grandmother after school. Travel came from our school's travel club giving me the opportunity to visit Italy and Greece. Music came from leaning heavily into band once I hit the seventh grade. These would not go away as I moved on to college, especially music.

My experiences with the SU Music Department have been some of my favorite in college. The long days of work during band camp are all made worth it every time I get to step out onto a field to give 110% effort in performance, regardless of the size of the audience: 100 people or 1,000 people. I've even been given the chance to take the American Collegiate Band experience across the Atlantic, all the way to the streets of Prague, Czech Republic. While at SU, I have played tenor saxophone, trombone and vibraphone in a variety of groups, including the marching band, concert band, woodwind and brass ensembles, pep band, and percussion ensemble.
